Master of Epidemiology Diponegoro University (Undip) has successfully held a research report seminar on the outcome evaluation of the WC4ALL movement, Latrines for All Families in Wonosobo on Friday, May 5, 2023. The seminar, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by various groups, ranging from academics, practitioners, to the general public.
This seminar was held as an evaluation report of the WC4ALL movement. The WC4ALL movement itself is a social movement that aims to improve the quality of community sanitation by increasing the construction of latrines in rural areas in Indonesia. This movement is a collaboration between Undip, Griffith University, and the Australian National University Canberra.
The evaluation results of the WC4ALL Jamban Bagi Semua Keluarga movement in Wonosobo show that the program has succeeded in improving the quality of sanitation in the region. This is shown by the increase in community access to better sanitation facilities, and also succeeded in increasing public awareness about the importance of good and proper sanitation.
In his presentation, Dr. dr. Budi Laksono, MH.Sc, expressed his hope that this activity could provide great benefits to the community. “This seminar is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to contribute in improving the quality of life of the community. I hope the cooperation that has been carried out can provide great benefits to the community, especially in terms of improving the quality of sanitation,” he said.
The research report seminar is also expected to inspire the government and communities in other regions in Indonesia to adopt the WC4ALL movement as an effort to improve the quality of community sanitation.
